making food from scratch

Making food from scratch is a dying art. When I said "food from scratch" it means creating or processing food at home using the traditional method.

It is such an important knowledge that without it, if it happened to be a war, or a pandemic (think CoVID-19), a lot of people who have no knowledge to bake their own bread, or to turn chilies into "sambal" would be in dire strait indeed.

I have another website which I started way before I had this popular cooking classes running. It is called Pickles and Spices and you can find over 60 recipes that I wrote over those early years.

A homemade item can be as simple as blanching a fruit and keeping it in a container filled with brine. When the container is sterilized, what you made is something that can be kept for future use and can be stocked up in your pantry.

I can teach you more complicated things too, so please bear with me.

Nowadays, with the increasing cost of most food supplies, many people tend to make do without what they're used to due to economic reasons. It does not have to stay that way. You can spend the time and a little bit of effort to learn making food from scratch. Trust me, it would be worth it in the long run.
