Nazlina has written a book about laksa which is now available for purchase from Amazon US.

It is a one-of-a-kind book which covers all kinds of laksa dishes in Malaysia. Half the book is about ingredients you need to know in order to make laksa. It was written in 2016 and included stories about Nazlina's cooking class in Penang as well.

    MORNING SESSION

  • 8:00 AM: meet at the market for breakfast and market tour
  • 10:00 AM: go to the outdoor cooking area at Nazlina Spice Station to cook your lunch
  • 12:30 PM: Enjoy the fruits of your labour.

    AFTERNOON SESSION

  • 2:30 PM: meet at the market for some food samplings and market tour
  • 4:00 PM: go to the outdoor cooking area at Nazlina Spice Station to cook your early dinner

This experience is perfect for single travelers, families, young and senior people alike. The youngest was a five year old and the oldest was way beyond 80! People who were strangers became friends within these 5 hours.

What do we cook? Here are some of the popular samples:

  • Nasi Lemak with Sambal Ikan Bilis, Beef Rendang, Kari Ayam, Kuih-Muih, Asam Pedas, Masak Lemak, Kerabu and many more.
  • Roti canai, dhal curry, murtabak, teh tarik, naan, raita, chapati, vadai, roti jala
  • Char Koay Teow, Laksa, Chicken Curry Kapitan, Penang Achar, 

On average, three items would be taught, from scratch. All ingredients would be bought fresh, foraged from pots in the city, or from Nazlina's own edible garden.
